SUMMARY Comparative Study of Lineer Behavior of Frame Structures Including Subsoil with Different Stiffening Members Subjected to Earthquake It is essential to select the structural form of a structure in the earthquake resistant design. Therefore, the selection of the structural form of a structure, one must be made very carefully. The purpose of this study is to investigate the lineer behaviour of frame structures including subsoil with different stiffening members subjected to earthquake and to compare those results with those of moment-resisting frames. These comparation are made separately for displacement, bending moment and normal force for frames with different story and bay numbers. For this purpose, in the first chapter, general information about factors that should be considered in the selection of structural form of eartquake resistant design, structural form, members of structural form and studies made on earthquake resistant design are presented. In the secand chapter, information about frame structures models used in SAP90 are given. In the third chapter, the result obtained from the study are presented in tabolar forms and graps and then discussed. In the fourth chapter, the conclusions drawn from the result are given and some recommendations for future studies are made. This chapter is followed by a list of references. It is concluded that earthquake behavior of frame structures stiffened with different members is better than that of moment resisting frames from the characteristics considered point of view.
