Abstract (EN)

The aim of our study was to evaluate the effects of saline, etidronic acid and chitosan nanoparticles on dentin microhardness, dentin surface roughness and push-out bond strength of bioceramic material to the root canal. Human maxillary incisors were used in our study. For microhardness and surface roughness tests, the teeth were divided vertically in buccolingual direction. 9% Etidronic Acid (HEBP), 0.2% Chitosan and Saline irrigation agents were applied for 5 minutes. Vickers microhardness test was used to determine the hardness change in root dentin and Surftest roughness measurement test was used to determine the amount of change in roughness value. The push-out bond strength test method was used to measure the bonding forces between dentin discs exposed to the solutions and Biodentin. T test, Kruskal Wallis Analysis, One-Way Analysis of Variance and Tukey HSD test were used for statistical analysis. A value of p < 0.05 was taken as a reference for significance in statistical analysis. In the surface roughness and microhardness tests, there was no significant difference in Saline, HEBP and Chitosan groups before solution application, but there was a significant difference after solution application (p<0.05). The highest changes in microhardness and surface roughness occurred in HEBP and then in Chitosan and saline groups respectively. In the push bond strength test, the highest values were found as HEBP, Chitosan and Saline, respectively.
