Abstract (EN)
The Relationship Between The Functional Movement Screen and Isokinetic Muscle Strength of Knee in Different Sport Branches This study was conducted to demonstrate the correlation between the functional movement screen and the isokinetic muscle strength with objective data. 60 athletes involved in volleyball, greco-roman, speed skating, athletics and taekwondo branches were included in the study. The functional movement of the athletes was assessed by Functional Movement Screening, lower extremity isokinetic muscle strength was assessed by ISOMED 2000® isokinetic device. The relationship between the FMS total and subtest score and lower extremity isokinetic muscle strength values analyzed. There was correlation between FMS total score and dominant side hamstring peak torque at 60o/s angular velocity and H/Q ratio and the difference in dominant-nondominant side quadriceps isokinetic muscle strength (respectively r: -0.277, r: -0.330, r: 0.015). In-line lunge which are FMS subtests was related with nondominant side H/Q ratio and the difference in hamstring isokinetic muscle strength at 60o/s angular velocity (respectively r: -0.458, r: -0.296). And in-line lunge was related with dominant and nondominant side H/Q ratio and the difference in nondominant side hamstring isokinetic muscle strength at 180o/s angular velocity (r: 0.291 , r: 0.258). Rotatory stability which is subtest of FMS was related with H/Q ratio at 60o/s angular velocity (r: -0.270). FMS total score of greco-roman athletes related with dominant side quadriceps peak torque and quadriceps peak torque/weight values, dominant and nondominant side isokinetic H/Q ratio at 60 o/s angular velocity (respectively r: 0.753, r: 0.951, r: -0.747,r: -0.704). Total FMS scores of volleyball athletes related with and nondominant side hamstring peak torque strength at 180 o/s angular velocity (r: -0.325). FMS total score in speed scating athletes related with nondominant quadriceps peak torque strength at 180 o/s angular velocity (r: -0.975). We conclude that the use of FMS in combination with isokinetic systems will provide more detailed information on the prevention of injuries to sports and the improvement of performance.
