The relationship between global citizenship and agression of sports managers, athletes and audiences in different sports branches (examples of the city Adana and Mersin)

The purpose of this study is to investigate whether there is a relationship between agression levels and global citizenships of athletes, audiences and managers from different sports branches. The population of the investigation consist of athletes, managers and audiences living in Adana and Mersin providences. The samples of investigation consist of 785 subject which are 71 manager, 514 audience and 200 professional athletes above 18 age who were selected randomly. Global citizenship scale'' which was developed by Morais and Ogden (2011) and adapted to Turkish by İbrahim Fevzi Şahin with Fatih Çermik, and ''Agression Inventory'' developed by İpek İlter (Kiper, 1984) were used as data collection tool. In addition, in order to determine demographic characteristics of participants; an individual information form were used which was developed by the researcher. The questionnaires that were applied to participants in order to find answers to research problems, were entered to computer environment by using SPSS 15,0. Following the research, there was no statistically significant difference between the global citizenship and exercise duration, age and gender of athletes (p>0.05). However, global citizenship scale;it was determined that in global competence sub-dimension, and monthly income and social responsibility sub-dimension are significantly different (p<0.05). In their agression status, in gender variable; the impulsive agression in women is significantly higher then men (p<0.05). In educational status variable; in destructive agression sub-dimension and passive agression sub-dimension; it was determined that the people who have secondary education are significantly higher than people who have university education (p<0.05). In age variable, with the destructive passive agression sub-dimensions, in total agression, athletes who are 20 and less, are significantly different than athletes who are 21-25 and 31 (p<0.05). In exercise duration; the total agression is significantly higher in athletes doing physical exercise for 6-10 year than athletes doing physical exercise for more than 16 years (p<0.05). In sports managers; there were no significant difference in any of demographic characteristics and global citizenships (p>0.05). However, related to agression status; in age variable in impulsive agression sub-dimension, it was determined that there is a significant difference between 31-40 age group, 30 and less and 41 and above age groups (p<0.05). In monthly income variable, in passive agression sub-dimension it was determined that people who have 2000 TL and less monthly income, are significantly higher than people who have 3001 TL and more monthly income (p<0.05). In audiences; according to gender variable, it was determined that there is a significant difference in total global citizenship, global civil participation and social responsibility sub-dimension (p<0.05). In competition status, it was determined that there is a significant difference in total globalism, global civil participation and global competence sub-dimensions (p<0.05). In agression status of audiences, only in gender variable; male audiences are significantly different than female audiences in destructive agression (p<0.05).
