Abstract (EN)

In order for the companies making customer-based production, to improve itself in the clothing sector, which is one of the essential sectors of competitive environment, they should apply three criteria (just in time, quick response, maximum profit) during their production. This situation demonstrates the importance of orders. In the process of order receipt, several companies engage in keen competition in order to decrease the garment cost. Fabric cost constitutes roughly half of the garment cost. Thus, fabric cost may be calculated in a rapid way if the information of fabric consumption is attainable in a short period of time. The aim of this study was development of software, which can calculate the fabric consumption of various t-shirt models. The data of a large-scaled clothing company, making customer-based production, was utilized in this research. Software was designed web-based which provides connecting easily in everywhere. Additionally, three dimensional garment models were also included into the software in order to analyze the appearance of complicated models easily. It is expected that the software, prepared by both model pictures and unit expenditure values, will contribute to the calculation of fabric consumption of a similar model in a speedy way.Statistical relationship between the body sizes with fabric consumption, and pattern areas of the t-shirt models was also examined. With this aim, short-sleeved and crew neck t-shirt models for men, women, maids and boys were selected. Regression analysis was performed for the data obtained by evaluation in SPSS package program. As a result of the analysis, it was seen that unit meter may be estimated by means of the regression equation created according to the measurements of t-shirt length and sleeve length.
