Abstract (EN)
Cotton is a strategic and important raw material grown in various geographical regions around the world. In this thesis study, the differences/similarities in the finished knitted fabrics produced from rollergin and sawgin cottons, which are of the Gossypium Hirsutum L. species but grown in different regions and widely used in Turkey, were investigated. Within the scope of the study, Ne 30/1 compact combed yarns were produced from the selected cottons in order to examine the effect of different cotton types on yarn quality properties. Bleaching and dyeing processes were applied to the single jersey knitted fabrics produced from these yarns under the same conditions. The fiber properties of the cottons from different regions, the compact combed yarn properties produced from these fibers and the properties of the finished knitted fabrics were determined by testing. In addition, characterization analyzes (TGA, DSC, XRD and FT-IR) and pesticide analyzes were applied to the raw and dyed fabrics. All the obtained data were evaluated with Uster Statistics, graphics and statistical analyzes. It has been shown that the ginning method of cotton (rollergin or sawgin) has an effect on the fiber properties, and that there are differences in the fiber properties of cotton ginned in the same way but grown in different regions, and that these differences on a fiber basis are also reflected in the properties of yarn and finished knitted fabric.
