Abstract (EN)

Expression levels of geranylgeranyl reductase (OeCHL P) gene were determined in two maturation period (green and black) of 39 olive types obtained from Bornova Olive Research Center ''Olive Genetic Resource Conservation Parcel'' in 2017 and 2018. As a result of RT-PCR analysis, the phenolic coumpund and α-tocopherol contents were investigated in five types with the highest level of OeCHL P transcription for two years. In 2017, the green maturation period Sinop No 5 (1,00) and Uslu (3,01), in the black maturation period Girit Olive (1,17), İzmir Table Olive (1,07) and Çilli (1,04) gave the highest gene expression levels. In 2018, the highest gene expression was obtained from Uslu (2,96) and Sinop No 5 (2,52) in green maturation period, Çilli (2,75) and Nizip Oil Olive (2,05) in black maturation period, Eşek Olive (Ödemiş) (1,60-2,95) in both maturation periods. In conclusion, it is found that OeCHL P gene expression depends on the years, varieties and maturation levels. Also, the amount of the phenolic compound of the varieties was decreased with the maturation period while a tokoferol content was increased in the main varieties except few others.
