Abstract (EN)
This research was carried out to investigate the chemical composition of different olive leaves as an alternative to roughage used in animal nutrition. The material of the research consists of 10 different olive varieties (Ayvalık, Memecik, Erkence, Memeli and Çilli,Gemlik, Domat, Uslu and Ödemiş eşek, İzmir Sofralık). As a result of the analysis, the highest DM, CA, CP, CF, NfE, NDF, ADF, CT and ME values were respectively; 55.13, 11,68, 12,78, 7,98, 72,42, 48,70 and 43,18%, 2242,2 g/kg DM and 9.62 MJ /kg DM respectively Memecik, Çilli ,Memeli, Memecik, Domat, Memeli, Memeli, Memecik and Gemlik species were found (P <0.05). Leaves of Memeli for HP, Memecik for HS and Gemlik for ME values may be suggested as criteria which can be considered valuable in terms of feed value.
