Why is that so? Not all changes can beattributed to tradition or custom. And what causes these differences in thefirst place? How did some of them become traditional? It has something to dowith the different climates. Before the Dutch attempts at colonisation during the early, the island wasuninhabited. Consequently, the whole population now consists ofdescendants of immigrants who have settled on the island at different placesand for different reasons.Events encouraged the next wave of immigrants, this wave was thelargest ever and radically changed the demographic and social structure ofthe island. It seems so much more dignified and sincere to greet with arather than a wave.During the second half of the nineteenth century, there was a flow of freeimmigrants changed forever the demographic structure. Those successiveand sometimes overlapping waves of immigrants changed foreever thedemographic structure and it?s cultural mix.
