Abstract (EN)

Magical realism is a movement originating from Latin America. This trend; It can be thought of as the blending of the historical origins of Latin America with the modernist, existential and postmodernist structure of Europe; But on the other hand, it is actually a reaction to European trends. The fact that this movement is new in Turkish literature may cause magical realist writers to be included in different movements when evaluated by literary historians and critics. One of these writers is Faruk Duman, one of the important artists of Turkish literature after 1990. Faruk Duman is a versatile artist who can be considered both social realist, postmodern and magical realist. This study is the first comprehensive and independent study prepared to identify the magical realist elements in Faruk Duman's novels. The study is organized in two parts. In the first part, the theoretical framework of magical realism is drawn and its representatives in Turkish and World literature are included. In the second part, the magical realist elements in eight of the author's novels, except Ayazma Kahvesi Lovers, which do not contain any magical realist elements, were identified.
