Abstract (EN)
Phase-changing materials can be used to minimize the heating and cooling needs of the houses and to store the excess heat energy in the house during the day. The use of FDMs in order to minimize the heating and cooling needs of the houses reduces the consumption of fossil resources and prevents greenhouse gas emissions to the environment. In this context, examining and disseminating the use of different types of FDMs for thermal comfort in houses may be beneficial for energy efficiency. In this study, phase changing materials were used to reduce the amount of energy spent in providing thermal comfort conditions. Polyehtilene Gylocol-600 and Calcium Cloride Hexahydrade (PEG-600 and CCH) were selected for the purpose of the study. The test apparatus prepared within the scope of the thesis consists of four small chambers with cardboard covered and 15 mm thick plasterboard (2.3 W / mK). / mK). Only the floor and ceiling surfaces of the other three rooms are covered with the same insulation material. Only one of the three rooms whose base and ceiling surfaces were insulated was left empty, and two different phase-changing materials, PEG-600 and CCH, were placed in silicone hoses with an inner diameter of 9 mm and an outer diameter of 12 mm. Initially, one kilogram was placed in the test rooms and then two kilograms of FDM were placed in the test rooms for the experiments and FDMs were compared with the empty room and the insulated room in order to see the effects of phase-changing substances on thermal comfort. According to the results obtained, when the FDMs were compared with the empty room, it was found that the temperature changes in the test room during the day were less in the room with FDM than the empty room. In addition, the fact that phase change temperatures are close to the comfort conditions indicates that there is no need for heating or cooling at certain times of the day (during the periods when the FDMs change phase) and in this case, energy consumption is prevented in order to provide comfort conditions. When the test room with 1 kg PEG-600 was compared with the empty room, average night temperatures were observed to be 4% and when the amount of PEG-600 was removed 2 kg, the difference in average night temperatures was 7%. When the test room containing 1 kg of CCH and the empty room were compared, the average night temperatures were 3% and the difference of the average night temperatures was 6% when the CCH amount was subtracted 2 kg. In addition, in comparison with the test room with PEG-600 and the insulated room, the average night temperature difference, which was initially 10%, was reduced to 4% by doubling the amount of material in terms of average night temperatures. Similarly, when the test results for the room with CCH and the insulated room were examined, it was observed that the average night temperature difference which was initially 10% decreased to 5% by increasing the amount of the substance. Thus, it was observed that FDMs produced data closer to the insulated test chamber by increasing the amount of substance in the test chamber.
