Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to reveal that women who are subjected to gender inequality are dragged into a disadvantaged position due to their socio-economic and cultural differences within their own gender while experiencing urban space. In this perspective, the main idea of the thesis is that women's experiences are shaped by socio-economic differences in the urban space where the presence of masculine domination is felt. Therefore, socio-economic differences reflected in the urban experience show that there are also inequalities between women's own sexes. In this framework, two districts in Erzincan city center that are quite different from each other in terms of socio-economic and cultural aspects were identified, and in-depth interviews were conducted with 16 participants in Demirkent district and 12 participants in Ersevenler district. The data obtained were analyzed through the Maxgda program. As a result of the research, it was determined that women's daily life practices differ from each other and therefore each woman experiences the city differently. The city image that women in two different districts experience in their minds and design in their minds is also different. Keywords: Femınıst Geography, Gender, Place
