Abstract (EN)
In this study it?s aimed to evaluation preservice science teachers? practices and views about whether bioethics teaching is necessary and what are the problems and their solutions for the application of bioethics teaching.Research model of single group pre-test?post-test was used in this study. The research was applied on 80 third grade pre-service science teachers studying in Gazi University Faculty of Education Science Education Program. In the studies student centered teaching activities on bioethics teaching which needed preservice science teachers? active participation were arranged.In the study ?The Bioethics Interview Forms? and ?The Assessment Envantory of Bioethics Education? and also interviews with some preservice science teachers were used as data collection tools. The preservice science teachers? views about bioethics teaching and also the problems and their solutions in the applications were taken with these data collection tools. Both of qualitative and quantitative analysis were done. The content analysis was done for the qualitative data. The frequency and percentage rate of data was done for the quantitative data.Following results are obtained from analyzes:?The preservice science teachers? knowledge about morality, ethics and bioethics was increased.?The preservice science teachers thought that ethics can be taught.?The preservice science teachers believed that bioethics education is necessary.?The preservice science teachers realized the importance of looking at the bioethics subjects in different viewpoints.?The preservice science teachers become more conscious about the problems which can occur in dealing with bioethics subjects in the lessons.?The preservice science teachers realized the importance of individual differences in lesson process and also in the assessment part.At the end of the research, some suggestions were made concerning to have bioethics subjects in the science and technology lessons, to consider this subjects not only in primary education and also in the secondary education and to arrange inservice education about the bioethics teaching for teachers.Key words: ethics, morality, bioethics, science and technology teaching
