Abstract (EN)

The purpose of this research is to determine the STEM awareness levels of science teachers working in Usak province and districts and their thoughts about STEM-based education. The research conducted is a descriptive study in the survey model. Both qualitative and quantitative methods were used to collect research data. The "STEM Awareness Scale" developed by Buyruk and Korkmaz (2016) was used to obtain quantitative data. The "Semi-Structured Interview Form" developed and applied by Özdemir (2019) was used to obtain qualitative data. In this context, interviews were held with 17 science teachers. According to the research results, while science teachers' STEM awareness levels differ significantly in terms of gender, participation in STEM education or not, and years of seniority, it has been determined that there is no significant difference in terms of the faculty from which they graduated. In terms of qualitative findings, it was determined that science teachers had positive views towards STEM-based education practices.
