Science teachers'perspectives on the use of social media in science education

In this study, it is aimed to examine the views of science teachers about the use of social media in science education. The sample of the study consists of 60 science teachers working in Mersin. In this study, qualitative research method was used and in this direction, interview technique was used. As a data collection tool, a semi-structured interview form consisting of 10 questions developed by the researcher was used. Interviews with science teachers lasted an average of 15-20 minutes. The data obtained as a result of the research were analyzed using the descriptive analysis method. As a result of the research, the views of science teachers on the use of social media in science education were examined. It has been determined that fast communication, material creation, different methods and techniques, visual richness, online trials and tests, material and time savings in experimentation.
