Research of sience high school students? having self regulated learning skills

In our age, knowledge is in computably increasing and in parallel with this situation, social change and development occur. This situation necessitates even obliges the individuals to get new knowledge and abilities and update their existing knowledge and abilities. Individuals? keeping up with social change and development and transferring new knowledge to their lives depend on the condition that learning activities should be an ongoing process rather than being a process only at school.Self regulating and resultant self regulated learning ability is not only an important determiner of the success in the class or other training environments but also is an important ability which can underlie the lifelong learning. Main purpose is to analyze science high school students? self regulated learning abilities from the point of different variables in this study, It has been concentrated on the self regulated learning which will underlie their lifelong learning and related constructions and concepts. Also in this study, It has been tried to present corporate perspective to the qualifications of the students who have self regulated learning ability and setting of self regulated learning environment.Within the thesis study, self regulation, self regulated learning and self regulation strategies has been described, It has been tried to indicate the characteristic features of the students who learns by self regulation, It has been discussed what are the factors that affect self regulate learning. Also within the study, It has been mentioned about the necessary principles while forming learning environments that improves the self regulation abilities. It has been given information about the student, teacher and features of the evaluation process. Also, It has been emphasized the studies that aims to improve the students? self regulation abilities.The thesis research has been carried out on students in the Science High School which depends on the ministry of national education in the city center of Elazığ in 2011-2012 academic years. The data that obtained from this sample have been analyzed by SPSS program. In the analyses of the data, arithmetic mean, frequency, percentage, T test and variance have been used. The findings of the analysis of the data are as follows:They expressed a positive level opinion about the average of the all factors related to Science High School Students? self regulated learning abilities. In the general terms, students views about the self regulated learning indicates a significant difference in terms of gender and class variable but, it doesn?t indicate a significant difference in terms of number of siblings, department, economic level and parents' education level.The students expressed a low level opinion about the sub-factors although they are generally among the positive range. While the science high school students indicate a positive opinion in terms of sub-factors of targeting, self evaluation, getting help, work environment, learning responsibility, working order, motivation, time management, learning strategies and learning resources, they indicated negative opinion in terms of memory strategies and success resources. The science high school students show similar features in terms of many variables. At the end of the analysis, It has been seen that the students presented their opinion the highest in working order and the lowest in memory strategies. Also, according to the analysis, the science high school students indicate written sources as the most used learning source and the curriculum as the least used learning source. Also, the students indicate that will to succeed effects their success the most and working hard effects their success the least.
