Applications of ISO 22000:2005 food safety management systems for vegetable oil sector

At present days which the borders are not obvious even cancelled and all the markets are globalized, it is possible to achieve the surviving in the food sector like in all other sectors by satisfiying the customer expectations, ensuring the food safety and quality. For these properties systematic approach is necessary.In that systematic approach, ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System for quality and ISO 13001 HACCP Food Quality System for food quality are the most utilized metods. These systems can be used alone or together and mostly they can be used by the proved efficiency by teh means of integrated the systems. By starting the reality of improving this activity, in 2005 ISO 22000:2005 Food Quality Management System was developed by ISO (International Organization for Standardization).In the application performed in factory which has 1350 tons/year hazelnut oil production capacity, 2700 m2 land and 670 m2 factory area; as a result of hazard analysis performed based on hazelnut oil production flow chart, two critical control points are determined which are detecting the aflotoxin in hazelnut which is one of the raw material items and can not entirely be removed bleaching soil for bleaching process. Other hazards are prevented prerequirement programs and operational prerequirement programs.Because of using closed system and high temperature in vegetable oil production encountering of physical and biological risks is of low probability.The study was done fort he purpose of presentation and application of ISO 22000:2005 Food Quality Management System.
