Abstract (EN)

In this study, based on Tresca?s yield condition and its associated flow rule, the elastic-plastic deformation of a solid cylinder with fixed ends made of functionally graded material (FGM) with uniform internal heat generation is investigated by taking into consideration the material parameters which are yield strength, modulus of elasticity, coefficient of thermal conduction and thermal expansion, all variable along the radius. Poisson ratio is taken as constant. The materials which compose the functionally graded cylinder are assumed to be elastic-perfectly plastic materials. The distributions of stress, strain and displacement in this functionally graded cylinder are found out analitically, however plastic region radii which can not be found out analitically are calculated by numerical iterations by means of Mathematica 5.2.
