Ill ABSTRACT THE FRENCH SIX (LES SIX) Sibel Sarıcan Anadolu University The Institute of Social Sciences, December, 2004 Supervisor: Prof. Zöhrab Adıgüzelzade The main aim of this study is to research the works, biographies, characteristics, new musical understanding and the reasons coming together of the composers called as The French Sixs "Les Six" appeared in France under the leaderships of Erik Satie and Jean Cocteau in the 20th century after the "Debussy and Ravel" era by regarding their new approach to the classical music at that period for providing new marginal reforms.
