ABSTRACTMaster ThesisTHE CONTENT OF DIGESTIVE SYSTEM OFAcanthobrama marmid HECKEL, 1843INHABITING EUPHRATES RIVERAkif Evren PARLAKFırat UniversityGraduate School of Natural and Applied ScienceDepartment of Biology2006, Page: 59In this study the digestive system content of totaly 156 Acanthobrama marmid Heckel,1843 caught from Euphrates between January 2005 and December 2005 have been examined.In the content of digestive system of examined Acanthobrama marmid Heckel, 1843,Bacillariophyta (24 genus ), Chlorophyta (11 genus ), Cyanophyta (10 genus ) and Chrysophyta(1 genus ) belog to plants and Rotifera (10 genus), Amphipoda (1 genus), Cladocera (1 genus )and Copepoda (1 genus ) belong to animals have been found.The month, seasonal, annual and length, weight groups distribution of the organisimswere examined by using numerical method, frequency of occurence method and GeometricIndex of Importance (GII) method.At the end of study, the rations in total organism number were Bacillariophyta(76.27 %), Chlorophyta (9.29 %), Cyanophyta (6.26 %), Rotifera (6.11 %), Amphipoda(0.89 %) , Chrysophyta (0.76 %), Copepoda (0.25 %) and Cladocera (0.17 %) respectively.Key words: Fırat River, Digestive system content.Acanthobrama marmid,
