II SIMULATION AND ANALYSIS OF BRUSHLESS DC MOTORS (M. Sc. Thesis) Şevki DEMİRBAŞ GAZI UNIVERSITY INSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY December 1995 ABSTRACT Recently, the control of brushless dc motor has become very important in high performance servo applications, which require very fast responses. In this thesis, the position and phase currents of brushless dc motor were controlled by PI and hysteresis current feedback respectively. Three phase dynamic equations of the motor model were used. In this study, Matlab-Simulink package program was preferred to simulate all systems. The package program offers faster program preparations and gives high accurate results. The simulation results proved that the PI controlled brushless dc motor can be used successfully in high performance servo applications such as tracking and robots.
