Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACTThe purpose of the study is to introduce Fuzzy TOPSIS method which utilizes groupdecision-making in fuzzy environments and clarify the method?s process with an applicationincluding assessment of candidates in human resource selection. The application took abouteight months. For this purpose, juries composed of firm managers in a shopping mall hadevaluated the decision criteria and also salespeople candidates subject to them throughinterviews by using linguistic variables. Data gained from these evaluations transformed totriangular fuzzy numbers and used in Fuzzy TOPSIS method?s algorithm. Salespeoplecandidates were ranked from the best to the worst with respect to the calculated closenesscoefficients. The interviews were applied to different candidates by different juries at differenttimes. In conclusion, it can be possible a more accurate and effective group decision-makingby using Fuzzy TOPSIS method that assesses linguistic variables. The study also shows thatFuzzy TOPSIS method can be rather useful method for human resource selection.
