In this study conducted within the design directorate of a company operating in the aviation sector and realizing gas turbine engine projects, the working value of the human resources, who worked in different disciplines during the project, was tried to be increased to 80% or more by using the value engineering approach of system engineering. In this context, firstly, the functions performed by the disciplines working in the relevant directorate were determined and classified, and the processes they performed with FAST diagrams were visualized. Then, taking into account the number of undesired functions and the workload spent on these functions, the current working values of the disciplines were calculated. In line with the results obtained, the work value of the disciplines was tried to be increased by starting from the discipline with the lowest value, by reducing the number of undesired functions performed by the disciplines and the workload they spent on these functions. In this context, the disciplines and teams that should perform the unwanted functions of the disciplines were tried to be determined and the solution to assign these functions to the determined teams was proposed. As a result of the suggestions, the working value of nine of the 10 disciplines dealt with was increased to 100%, and the working value of the remaining discipline to 82.29%. In addition, in addition to the teams and disciplines that operate within the company and need to perform unwanted functions, it was proposed to establish a new discipline within the directorate considered within the scope of the study and the functions to be performed by this discipline were specified.
