Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACT Master of Science Thesis PERFORMANCE ANALYSIS AND EVALUATION PROGRAMS OF GAS TURBINE ENGINES ÖNDER TURAN ANADOLU UNIVERSITY GRADUATE SCHOOL OF NATURAL AND APPLIED SCIENCES CIVIL AVIATION PROGRAM SUPERVISOR: PROF.DR. T.HÜCMET KARAKOÇ SEPTEMBER- 2000 In this thesis study, steady state performance prediction of axial flow gas turbine engines used in aircraft is inquired into and new computer program is developed on this purpose. In this program, whose name is GAZTUSIM, afterburning and nonafterburning turbojet and separate flow turbofan, mixed flow and afterburning turbofan, high bypass turbofan and turboprop engines are selected as example on-design engine types and their on-design performance is computed in GAZTUSIM program. Mixed flow and afterburning turbofan, high bypass turbofan and turboprop engines are selected as example off-design engine types in GAZTUSIM program and their off-design performance is also inquired into GAZTUSIM program. GAZTUSIM program is developed in Visual Basic 6.0 program language. In different operating point and component characteristic of example engines, each engine's and their component performance are calculated in GAZTUSIM program. On-design and off-design analysis results and performance charts of selected example engines are presented in GAZTUSIM program. Keywords: Axial Flow Gas Turbine Engine, On-design Analysis, Off-design Analysis, Steady State Performance, Component Characteristic u
