Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to design and apply new projects in a facility which has high rates of energy consumption in order to reduce energy consumption without reducing the quality and performance, and to prepare energy identity certificate for the facility. Engineering Faculty building of Gazi University has selected for this study.Energy efficiency projects are designed in accordance with the faculty?s architectural and the technical specifications. These projects are: Changing magnetic ballast of the fluorescent lamps with energy efficient electronic ballast, applying thermal insulation to the external walls of the building, increasing the thermal efficiencies of the heating boilers and applying thermal insulation to the heating system valves by using valve jackets to reduce natural gas consumption. When the cost analysis of the designed system is calculated, we see that the payback periods are at an acceptable level, these periods are 3.7 and 3 years for lighting and heating valves respectively.
