Abstract (EN)

Many natural disasters occur in Gaziantep province due to its proximity to the East Anatolian Fault line and its geomorphological structure. However, there has not been a sufficient level of disaster types of studies and related risk analyzes in this region so far. In this study, spatial and temporal analysis of some disasters such as earthquakes, landslides, floods and rockfalls in Gaziantep province was applied. Risk categorization was made by taking into account the damages caused by disasters. In order to benefit from the Fine-Kinney method, frequency, intensity and probability parameters were used and risk analysis was applied. The risk of rockfall and landslide events increases with excessive precipitation in places where the slope of the topography increases. The East Anatolian Fault line in the west poses a great danger and it is recommended to take emergency actions in a possible disaster. However, flood events pose a serious danger.
