Abstract (EN)
This study is planned to determine suitable pollenizers for Uzun and Siirt pistachio cultivars. With this aim 9-64, 12-119, 16-32 and 21-125 male types selected from hybrid cultivar parcel belonging to Pistachio Research Institute were used as pollenizer. It was struggled to determine the effects of cross-pollinaton with relevant pollenizers and open-pollination treatments on fruit set and fruit quality properties. At the same time, pollen quality and quantitiy of the pollenizers were also determined. The flowers of pollenizer types were formed between full bloom and post bloomperiodsof pistillate cultivars. As a result of pollen studies, whole pollenizer types were found to be sufficient in terms of pollen quality and quantity. In this study, although the fruit set was thought to be sufficient, the normal fruit set was low and the abnormal nut formation was high. Besides this, used pollenizers were insufficient on kernel formation and kernel development of both cultivars. As a result, used pollenizer types were not sufficient enough for Uzun and Siirt pistachio cultivars in either their flowering period or their effects on fruit set and quality properties.
