Abstract (EN)

Folk beliefs, produced by each society in its unique worldview, sustained and perpetuated. They are beliefs that have been developed by feeding from various sources, that can survive by adapting to the conditions of the age, that are both transferred in the old belief system of a society and born in a new religion and lifestyle. In the absence of science, primitive societies formed folk beliefs to explain the events they encountered.Despite the fact that there is a lot of scientific evidence today, the continuing folk beliefs meet the need to believe. However, folk beliefs that are based on many unknowns such as existence and life after death that science cannot explain continue to exist. In this context, compilation activities were carried out among Aleppo Turkmen who came to various provinces of Turkey after both Syria and forced migration, and these beliefs formed the basis of the study. The beliefs included in the study were examined in terms of both old belief systems and magical qualities, and it was tried to determine the folk beliefs of Aleppo Turkmens in the past and present.
