Abstract (EN)
Today, increasing obesity and creating a public health problem also affect pregnant women and newborn babies. In addition, obesity is associated with myonectin level. For this reason, new studies are being conducted on the Obesity-Myonectin relationship and the effects of this relationship on general health. Studies on the effects of myonectin in pregnancy, its relationship with body mass index and obesity are much less. It is expected that myonectin level will increase in the first trimester with the increased metabolic rate in obese pregnants, and decrease in myonectin level as a result of the decrease in physical activity in the second and third trimesters, as a result of the increase in fat production. However, there are no studies showing this or the opposite. Similarly, the maternal and fetal effects of this condition in pregnancy are not yet known. In this study, the pregnancy / myonectin relationship; It was aimed to evaluate fetal and maternal effects, myonectin level in obese and non-obese pregnants. MATERIAL-METHODS: 102 pregnant women who applied to Yozgat Bozok University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology outpatient clinic were included in our study. Liver function tests, thyroid function tests, kidney function tests, fasting blood sugar and fasting insulin values, cholesterol, LDL, HDL, triglyceride values and complete blood count were studied in each trimester of the patients. About 3 cc of venous blood samples taken from the individuals in each trimester were taken into a tube without anticoagulant, and kept at room temperature for 2 hours to complete the coagulation process. Then, the serum part separated by centrifugation at 1000 g cycle at 4 °C for 15 minutes was placed in eppendorf tubes and stored in a deep freezer at -80 ̊ C until the experiment. RESULTS: The effect of myonectin, which was discussed for the first time in our study, on body mass index between trimesters from the beginning to the end of pregnancy, and its relationship with GDM patients and other parameters were evaluated, and the change in myonectin levels was observed. Serum myonectin level in the first and third trimesters of pregnancy and body mass index were found to be significantly higher. In the second trimester, a decrease in serum myonectin level was noted with the effect of increased metabolic functions. Again, we observed a significant difference between infant weight and myonectin in GDM patients who were not included in the literature and evaluated for the first time in our study. We think that since obesity is a disease of our age and myonectin is involved in insulin resistance, obesity and fat metabolism, it can be used as a biochemical marker to predict obesity and related diseases.
