Abstract (EN)
In order to determine the relationship between sleep quality and prenatal attachment in pregnant women, it was performed analytically cross-sectionally between September 2018 and September 2019 at Aydın Gynecology and Pediatrics Hospital under Aydın Provincial Health Directorate. The population of the study was the pregnant women who applied to the Nonstress Test (NST) outpatient clinic of this hospital, and the sample consisted of 675 pregnant women. Research data were collected by Pregnancy Information Form, Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index, Epworth Sleepiness Scale, Prenatal Attachment Inventory. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) 18 program was used in the analysis of the data and student t test, Mann-Whitney U test, ANOVA and Kruskall Wallis H test were used for descriptive statistics, Tukey test and Pearson Correlation analysis for further analysis. The average age of pregnant women participating in the study is 27.35 ± 5.87 years, and the average years of marriage is 5.85 ± 4.65 years. The Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index mean score of the pregnant women was 6.10 ± 3.52, and %60.3 of them were found to have poor sleep quality. Family type, year of marriage, residence status, gestational week, number of living children, abortions, stillbirth numbers, education about postpartum/delivery period, weight conceived, habits to fall asleep, support from spouse during pregnancy sleep problems during pregnancy, duration of sleep, differences between sleep before pregnancy and sleep during pregnancy, snoring status were found to be factors affecting sleep quality of pregnant women. Prenatal Attachment Inventory mean score of pregnant women was found to be 66.54±10.60. A positive correlation was found between sleep dis order and sleep drug use and Prenatal Attachment Inventory, which is one of the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index sub-components of pregnant women (p<0.05). There was no relationship between Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index of pregnant women and Prenatal Attachment Inventory (p> 0.05). As a result, it was determined that there was no relationship between the sleep quality of pregnant women with low sleep quality and prenatal attachment. Pregnant women should be evaluated in terms of sleep quality and prenatal attachment at each follow-up and supported during this period.
