Abstract (EN)

The comic spirit of clown has kept it?s existance by the sence of humour and witticism in the every well-known culture. Clowning and civilization are at the same age. This ancient art calls everyman to be human.Clowning teach us to protect our selfconfidients againist to system and public. Thomas More ?Most enteligant and smartest people?s most sincerly friends were usualy the clowns.? says in ?Utopia?. The İtalian Princes were proud of owning a clown in their palaces in the Renaissance. Whenever they want to be polite to their friends or neighbours, they used to send theme , their clowns , `as a gift? for couple of hours to make them happy and joyfull. Clowns had a ability about music,poem and theatre. Also they interested in astrology and geology. Clowns were having conversition about philosophy at the begining of XV. century in Mexico Emperior Montezuma?s palace. In Egypt, Pharaoh?s had a clowns that we are able to know by the Picture of Egypt Pharaoh?s graves. They used to had a dwarf clowns. The Historian Books writes that in France, control was not on the XIII.Charles but on his clown Marais. İn XVI. century,Clowns gets on the stage and clowns true master?s of public ,make laugh and beware of high class.We can see a woman clowns in the History of Clowning. Giovanna Matta ve Caterina Matta were famous clowns in İtaly at XVI. Century. İn Ottoman Emperior, ?To own a clown in palace? luxcury had started with Sultan II. Beyazıd and this custom has lost by 1900. When we look up to XX. century we see clowns like Charlie Chaplin, Laurel and Hardy, Marciel Marceau... The Clowns are changing as far as the World system changes. Clowns never belonged to high class. They were and are always belong to ordinary classes. As a result; clowns, try to help us to find our own clowns. ?To find out your clown? means; help yourself to find yourself.
