Abstract (EN)
Energy is an important needs for human beings in the world of technology which develops very fast. Due to lack of energy sources of reserves, humanity have been searching for alternative fuels. Hydrogen gas, which is one of the most important alternative fuels, created fuel cells which produce electricity that doesn't need cyclic combustion. Fuel cells which are clean, safe and high efficient device will be used broadly in the near future. In this study, general literature survey about fuel cells and PEM fuel cells, which have zero emission and working with economical and higher efficiency, has been carried out. Furthermore, a previously made PEM fuel cell prototype, which was built by Şenol (3), was modificated and re-used. Without parameter working, various membranes were tested by using DOW resin. In this way, support substance which was used in preparing of membranes, membrane production techniques and membrane thickness have been investigated for their effect on efficiency. As a result, similar values with literature have been obtained by using various membrane support substances.
