Abstract (EN)
Settlement and life in Gelendost began in 3000 BC. The district has experienced the dominance of Hittite, Phrygian, Lydian, Persian, Roman, Byzantine, Seljuk and Ottoman civilizations. Gelendost, which gained district status in 1954, has 13 villages. Gelendost has hosted various civilizations throughout history. The district, which has a history extending from the Hittites to the Byzantines, Seljuks and Ottomans, has gone through many cultural and historical changes during these periods, and these changes have contributed to the enrichment of folk literature. The tales, legends, jokes, idioms, manis, lullabies, laments and proverbs compiled in Gelendost are the rich folk literature elements of the district. These folkloric elements are of critical importance for the understanding of the social and cultural life of Gelendost.Despite being a small district of Isparta, Gelendost has a very rich cultural structure and has a rich and valuable cultural accumulation in material and spiritual terms, formed by its very old history and cultural life. Therefore, in this study, it is aimed to document the cultural structure of the district and to pass it on to future generations by examining the folk literature elements and cultural values of the district. Priority was given to the aim of recording the forgotten folk literature products collected from the Gelendost district. As a result of various field studies in the district, local people and interviewed source persons, the documentation of the folk literature elements of the district was ensured. As a result of the studies conducted, it was concluded that Gelendost has a very rich structure in terms of folk literature. Another aim of the study is to make the cultural structure of Gelendost sustainable and to carry it to the future as a working document describing the district. Considering the cultural values of the district as a document will ensure that these values are announced by those who conduct more extensive research. In this way, it will be possible to prevent these valuable folk literature structures that have been examined from being forgotten.
