Abstract (EN)

Population growth and unhealthy urbanization in the world harm the nature and cultural values day by day. In this sense, in order to prevent the damage of the environment irreversibly, it is essential to assure flora and fauna values that have special habitats. At the same time it is very crucial to avoid the damage on the history and cultural heritage, and also protect them to transmit to the posterity.Natural and cultural landscape factors should be assessed in this framework during the planning processes in our country. In this research, which is carried on with this approach, our countries? natural and cultural landscape factors are examined under the natural landscape and cultural landscape headings by taking into consideration the arguments and exercises that can be considered as standards and criterias developed according to the country?s circumstances, and with the objectives of enlightening about the comparable characteristics, based upon human comfort, that can be implemented at all the regions of our country.In this research; landscape, landscape planning, open and green area, ecological planning and landscape potential concepts are analyzed with the various subheadings. In the light of this informations, natural and cultural landscape values of Gallipoli and its near environment are determined and the landscape potential of district is evaluated. Furthermore in this research it is presented the proposals and practices that are needed to be done to develop the landscape potential of the district.Keywords: Çanakkale, Gallipoli, Landscape Potential, Landscape Planning
