The Body Measurements and the Relationships Between This Traits Some Dog Breeds at Military School of Veterinary Medicine and Training Center in GemlikThis study was carried out to determine the body measurements and the phenotypic correletions between these measurements in German Shepherd, Labrador Retriever and Belgian Malinois dog breeds reared in Military School of Veterinery Medicine and Training Center in Gemlik. For this purpose 96 dogs were used in this study.The age effects were found statistically significant on the head length, the nose length, the body length, the tail length, the height at shoulder, the height at rump, the chest depth and the rump width of the female German Shepherd Dogs. The average body weight in male German Shepherd Dogs were found as 20,36 kg at nine months of age, 24,23 kg at 12 months of age and 24,68 kg at 15 months af age.There were significant differences between 9, 12 and 15 months of age for the height at shoulder, body length, height at rump and rump width in female Labrador Retriever Dogs. The average height at shoulder were found as 20,36 kg at nine months of age, 24,23 kg at 12 months of age and 24,68 kg at 15 month af age. The differences among age groups in terms of analysed the body weight, the head length, the nose length, the ear length, the height at shoulder, the chest circumference, the chest depth, the height at rump, the rump width, the wrist circumference and the tail length were statistically significant of the male Labradors. Average body lengths at nine 12 and 15 months of ages were found as 50,57, 53,82 and 56,03 cm, respectively. The effect of age were found as significant (P<0,001) for body weight.The average heights at shoulder in all age groups in female Belgian Malinois Dogs were measured as 48,80, 51,23 and 51,98 cm respectively. There were significant differences between 9, 12 and 15 months of age for the body weight, the head length, the nose length, the height at shoulder, the chest width, the chest depth, the height at rump, wrist circumference, the tail length in male Belgian Malinois Dogs.The positive and statistically significant (P<0,05) phenotypic correlations were determined between the ear length and the head length and the body length, between the wrist circumference and the head length, between the body length and the chest circumference, and the chest depth, between the rump width and the head length and the chest depth, between the height at rump and body length, between the chest width and the chest depth, at the nine months of age. Similar phenotypic correlations were found between the ear length and the body length, chest circumference and the rump width, between the height at rump and the body length, between the ear length and the body weight, between the head length and the chest depth, the chest width, the rump width and wrist circumference at the 12 months of age. Additionally, positive phenotypic correlations between the tail length and body length, the chest circumference, the chest width, the rump width and the wrist circumference, between the the rump width and the chest depth and the height of rump, between the body weight and the ear length were determined at the 15 month of age in German Shepherd Dogs.High positive phenotypic correlations such as 0,847, 0,891 and 0,905 were found between the height at shoulder and the height at rump at the 9, 12 and 15 months of age, in Dobermans, respectively.High positive phenotypic correlations were found between the height at shoulder and body weight (0,728), the head length (0,752) and the height of rump (0,823), between the chest circumference and the body weight (0,945), the chest depth (0,720), the chest width (0,852) and the wrist circumference (0,788), between the chest depth and the body length (0,729), between the chest width and the body weight (0,841) at the nine months of age; between the height at shoulder and the body weight (0,842), the head length (0,702), the ear length (0,931), the body length (0,736), the height of rump (0,984), the wrist circumference (0,834) and the tail length (0,809) at the 15 months of age in Belgian Malinois Dogs.
