Abstract (EN)

The main aim of this research is to examine the predictive effect of young adults' state and trait anxiety levels on their strategies for coping with stress and their life satisfaction. In addition, it has been examined whether the averages of the aforementioned variables of the study differed depending on the socio-demographic characteristics of the participants. The participants of the study consist of 315 young adult individuals between the ages of 20-40 living in Adana province. Participants have been determined by convenient sampling method on a voluntary basis and included in the study. As data collection tool in the research, Personal Information Form, StateTrait Anxiety Inventory (STAI), Stress Coping Scale (SCS) and Life Satisfaction Scale (LSS) have been used. The research datas have been analyzed with the Social Sciences statistical package program using frequency, percentage, Pearson correlation coefficient, t-test for unrelated samples and multiple standard regression analysis technique. As a result of the research, It has been determined that there is a negative and low level statistically significant relationship between the scores of the Stress Coping Scale avoiding dealing with the problem subscale, the problem orientation subscale, and the social support seeking subscale scores, and the state anxiety subscale and trait anxiety subscale scores of the State and Trait Anxiety Inventory. It has been seen that the state anxiety subscale of the State and Trait Anxiety Inventory is a significant predictor of the problem orientation subscale and seeking social support subscale scores of the Coping with Stress Scale. In addition, It has been determined that there is a negative and moderate statistically significant relationship between the Life Satisfaction Scale scores and the state and trait anxiety subscale scores of the State and Trait Anxiety Scale.
