Family medicine within the context of general health insurance: A legal evaluation

In the recent years; health, which was perceived as an economic, sociological and political phenomenon, won in all countries to be a priority issue for its resolution. Health and social security policies have an important role to reach the solution. In this regard, the first step in the offer of primary health cares is to widen the practice of `Family Physician Services?.In preparation of the `Family Medicine? concept, which has been recently included in the T.R. Government?s programs and emergency action plans and before enacting Social Security and General Health Insurance Law, Family Medicine Pilot Implementation Law has been enacted in 2004. However, in provinces where family medicine is practiced, due to insufficiency of the number of family physicians, the referral chain applications are postponed. Additionally, when the status of family physicians, who have been employed by either contract or entrustment method is examined in the context of administrative law, it will be seen that this law will also provide them legal security safeguards.
