Abstract (EN)
In this thesis, the Genetic Algorithm Technique, crossing, mutation operators concepts are explained and the initial population and the matched functions are described. The flow chart describing the outline of the technique has also been given in this section. The necessity of harmonic elimination in DC-AC convertors, the negative effects of the harmonics and factors used to define the harmonic effects are explained. A brief information on filters which are used to suppress the harmonics is given. The developed program for a square wave with half and quarter wave symmetries is introduced. The Genetic Algorithm Technique is applied for the harmonic elimination. The details of the developed program is explained step by step. The optained results are given both in tabular and graphical form. The results from Genetic Algorithm areVI compared with the results optained from classical optimization techniques with different initial conditions. After the result and discussion section in the thesis GAHE (Genetic Algorithm with Harmonic Elimination) program that is written with MATLAB in Addition- 1 is given.KEY WORDS: Genetic Algorithm, Harmonic Elimination, MATLAB.
