Abstract (EN)
In this study, utopia of George Orwell and how alienation occurs in this utopia are discussed. All works of Orwell, especially 1984 and Animal Farm, are studied and sources are analysed by survey of litterateur related to topic. To state position of Orwell in history of utopia, historical development of utopia is also examined. For this purpose, utopian philosophers and their works are also considered. In the next part, alienation question is discussed. Definitions and solition offers of philisophers about alienation question are given. At the final part of the study, counter utopia of Orwell is examined and its components are studied one by one. In the same part,again, evidences about that in which cases alienation occurs in counter utopia of Orwell are detected. In the conclusion of the reserch, how utopia is shaped in Orwell and how this affects alienation are stated. Moreover, regarding to solution offers for alienation question of Orwell, validity of them are discussed.Key Words: George Orwell, utopia, counter utopia, alienation
