Abstract (EN)

In this study; firstly general information was given about soil improvement methods. During the experiments, "microgrid material", which has similar function with geogrids was used. This material is considered because of fitting the sample size of triaxial compression test. Respect to this, fine graded undisturbed soil is taken from site by borehole method. By microgrid inclusion, soil strength parameters would be increased; so that, microgrid inclusioned soil compared to unreinforced soil by peak points of deviator stress, axial deformation graphs. On this purpose 50*100 mm sized samples were prepared to do triaxial compression tests. Those samples configurated by microgrid reinforcement such unreinforced, one, two and three layered. Cell pressure was given 50,100,150 and 200 kPa. For the experiments two different reinforcement were used, those are 2 mm and 4 mm aperture sized reinforcements. The main purpose is to explain and determine aperture size effect for soil strength parameters. And to compare unreinforced, one and more reinforcement configurated soil, by graphs and charts. Also lead up the primary design parameters of geogrid reinforcement.
