Abstract (EN)
In this study, the use of construction and demolition wastes instead of natural aggregates in embankments subjected to static or repeated loads was investigated with the help of laboratory tests. Moreover, it was also studied the behaviour of the embankment created from the construction and demolition waste materials reinforced with geosynthetics (geotextile, geogrid, geocell) to reach the load displacement behavior of the embankment constructed from high quality natural aggregate materials. Tests were carried out on the filler layer built from the natural aggregate material to compare comparison with reinforced and unreinforced filler layer built from construction and demolition waste material. In the tests, the granular filler layer was placed on the soft soil, and then static and repeated loads were applied to it, separately. Statistical analyses (MLR, MNLR and M5T) were performed on the results of the laboratory tests and some equations were obtained. As a result of this study, it was determined that the performance of construction and demolition waste material is lower than that of high quality natural aggregate material. However, it was also found that construction and demolition waste material with a little geosynthetic reinforcement could perform better than natural aggregate material.
