Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, power quality events occurring in a power distribution system were watched and discussed by using a real-time power quality monitoring system. A power quality analyzer system for monitoring and discussing was installed to the output of fully loaded transformer located at the distribution network at Kezer Campus, Siirt University. Real-time power quality measurements were done for a three months time period. The parameters such as current, voltage, power and frequency of the system as well as power quality events occurring in the system are recorded by this power quality analyzer system. The data of power quality events occurring in the related distribution system were transferred to the computer and then power quality events, such as voltage sag, voltage swell, voltage outage, flicker and harmonics were investigated and classified. The underlying events recorded by the power quality analyzer were classified in accordance with national and international standards. Furthermore, in this thesis, some suggestions were presented to minimize the impact of these power quality distortions on interconnected network and to the consumers at the measurement points.
