Abstract (EN)
This research was designed using a quasi-experimental design with pretest-posttest control group, one of the quantitative research techniques, in order to examine the effect of using realistic mathematics education of seventh grade students in mathematics lesson on the academic achievement, motivation and learning retention in the subject of "Integers". The study group was selected by the criterion sampling method, which is one of the simple random sampling types. The study group consists of 40 seventh grade students, 20 in the experimental group and 20 in the control group, studying in the Aladağ district of Adana province in the 2021-2022 academic year. Mathematics achievement test and mathematics motivation scale were used as data collection tools in the research. In the analysis of the data obtained as a result of the research, descriptive statistics, independent groups t test were applied. According to the results of the study, both the mathematics achievement test and the motivation scale pre-test and post-test results of the students are close to each other and there is no significant difference between the groups. After the studies, there was no significant difference between the posttest scores of the students in the experimental group and the students in the control group in the mathematics achievement test. It was concluded that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the permanence scores. In the mathematics motivation scale, there was no significant difference between the post-test scores of the students in the experimental group and the students in the control group. It was concluded that there was a significant difference in favor of the experimental group between the permanence scores.
