Analysis of information technologies usage in enterprises with data mining techniques

Data mining is a scientific discipline rooted in statistics, supported by information technology capabilities, aimed at discovering structures and relationships waiting to be discovered in large volumes of data and obtaining information from them. Thanks to data mining, tangible tools have been provided that can transform a mass of data that has been compiled and processed into a useful information set. In the initial sections of this study, definitions, information, concepts related to data mining and the functions that constitute them have been examined, and in particular, the subject has been tried to be clarified more clearly in the light of official statistics. In this study, data mining analysis has been applied to the 2022 microdata of the Information Technologies Survey in Enterprises, which has been published annually by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) since 2012. Analyses were carried out with WEKA open-source data mining software, and the results of digital maturity and Industry 4.0 component compliance were evaluated by separating enterprises according to their size into basic and advanced technology levels. From these results, it was understood that the compliance of class large enterprises(BB) with class Small enterprises (KB) according to their turnover size is high, and the compliance and maturity levels of class medium enterprises are low. In general, it is thought that this study, which uses datasets obtained from official statistics and reveals valuable information and statistical patterns, will have a high contribution and impact on data processing and analysis processes and the general literature.
