Abstract (EN)
Purpose: Assessment of the ganglion cell complex measurement and the use of the parameters of the depth of lamina cribrosa early diagnosis and progression of the disease in patients with suspected glaucoma Materials and Methods: 31 glaucoma suspect patients and 42 healthy subjects were included in the study. Measurements were taken with Heidelberg Spectral Domain Optical Coherence Tomography in both groups. The depth of lamina cribrosa was measured by enhanced depth imaging with ganglion cell complex thicknesses by segmentation analysis. Results: The mean ganglion cell layer thickness was found to be 11.46 in the glaucoma suspect group and 12.19 in the control group. The difference in ganglion cell layer thickness between two groups was statistically insignificant (p = 0.094). The mean depth of the lamina kribrosa was 579.3 in the glaucoma suspect group and 399.62 in the control group. The difference between the two groups in terms of depth of lamina kribrosa was statistically significant. (P <0.05) Conclusion: Glaucoma has a pathogenesis that also affects the optic disc and the macula. Measurement of ganglion cell layer and lamina kribrosa depth non invasively, can be used by the ophthalmologist for early diagnosis and follow-up of glaucoma patients Keywords : Ganglion Cell Complex Thickness, Glaucoma Suspect, Lamina Cribrosa Depth
