Abstract (EN)

Pesticide research has been conducted at the 16 rainbow trout fishponds (Oncorhynchus mykiss) which are registered at the Food, Agriculture and Animal Breeding Department of Mersin and suitability of these fishponds has been evaluated for ecologic cultivation. The research has been performed over the samples which are monthly taken from pond water and fishes that are stocked into these ponds between 2008 March and 2009 February. Gas chromatography (GC) was used among the spectrophotometric methods in order to identify the amount of pesticides.Neither pesticide nor heavy metal residual has been detected at the edible tissue of the fishes or in the water of ponds of any production facility. It has been determined that the facilities are better protected for this kind of pollution which are located near to geologically poor agricultural lands, specifically Anamur and Mut counties. It is observed that the production facilities may lean towards to organic cultivation if they are sufficiently informed.
