Abstract (EN)

Visual communication design, as an interdisciplinary field, undergoes continuous evolution driven by technological advancements. In recent years, the widespread adoption of artificial intelligence-supported design tools has led to the redefinition of design processes and creative approaches. This study provides an in-depth examination of the role of artificial intelligence in visual communication design, with a particular focus on the innovations introduced by the MidJourney platform. It explores the integration of AI-powered visual generation systems into design workflows, their impact on creativity, and how the identity of designers is shaped within this emerging paradigm. Within this scope, the study analyzes the algorithmic foundations of MidJourney, its data processing capabilities, and user experience, conducting comparative evaluations against traditional design methods. These analyses reveal both the advantages and limitations of AI-supported design processes. Additionally, the study discusses the influence of these technologies on professional aspects such as aesthetics, ethics, and copyright while making projections about potential future transformations. The research findings indicate that AI-supported systems like MidJourney are becoming increasingly influential in the field of visual communication design. Furthermore, it highlights the necessity of reassessing concepts such as creativity and originality in this new era. By addressing the ethical dimensions of AI-assisted design tools, copyright concerns, and the evolving relationship between humans and design, this study evaluates the potential for collaboration between human designers and artificial intelligence in creative processes. Providing an academic perspective on the transformations in visual communication design, this research aims to serve as a guide for future studies in the field.
