Abstract (EN)
Visual arts curriculum has an important place in our education system. These programs help students develop their creativity, increase their aesthetic sensitivity and gain artistic skills. However, the efficiency, applicability and problems encountered in the implementation of the programs can be evaluated through the opinions of the teachers. Visual arts teachers, who are the implementers of the program, are in a position to be considered the first source in terms of determining the effectiveness and missing aspects of the program, together with all the factors they encounter in the field, along with changing conditions. The opinions of visual arts teachers are important for the future of the visual arts curriculum. In the conceptual framework of the study, education, art, art education and training, the development of art education in Turkey, visual arts teaching in secondary education, secondary school visual arts course curriculum and related research are included. This study is important in terms of being a source for new visual arts curriculums to be prepared in accordance with the developing and changing conditions, together with the opinions of teachers who implement the secondary school visual arts curriculum. The study group of the research was formed with the participation of 25 visual arts teachers working in high schools in Denizli Merkezefendi and Pamukkale districts in the 2022-2023 academic year. The design of the research is a case study, which is one of the qualitative research methods. Interviews were conducted with the semi-structured interview technique, and opinions and suggestions were received from the participants about the secondary school visual arts curriculum. As a result of the research, various determinations regarding the status of learning areas, subjects and achievements in the implementation of the curriculum, the status of the program in relation to student readiness; Conclusions have been reached about some problems related to course hours, physical facilities, socioeconomic status, and lack of textbooks. It is recommended to conduct similar studies with a larger population and sample regarding the subject of this research.
