Abstract (EN)
In this study, the performance of SPAM (Superposed Pulse Amplitude Modulation) transmission scheme, which is recently proposed for Visible Light Communication systems, is analysed. Due to the implementation of the SPAM transmission scheme, threshold values are necessary at the receiving side. For this reason, in the thesis study, the bit error rate performance of the SPAM transmission scheme was compared by using the different threshold value estimation methods. The K-means method, a Multi-Level Estimation Method (MLEM) and the traditional method, has been used on the receiver side. A mathematical framework for improved method has been generated. According to the achieved simulation results, the advantages and disadvantages of the K-means method and the developed MLEM are discussed. Some propositions are presented to improve the performance results.
