Abstract (EN)

In this study, geological, petrographical and geochemical features of the ophidine and granitic rocks located in the area between Göksün and Afşin (Kahramanmaraş) have been investigated. Tectonic significance of the rock units have also been evaluated in the regional geology. Late Cretaceous Yüksekova ophiolite, Esence granitoids, Pliocene Ahmetçik formation and Quaternary Alluvium units have been distinguished during this study. Yüksekova ophiolite comprises, in an ascending order; ultramafic-mafic cumulates, sheeted dike complex and volcanic rock units. This ophiolite is intruded by the Esence granitoids which is characterized by the granodiorites containing mafic microgranular enclaves (MME) and the microgranodiorites showing arenatization and intruded by aplitic dikes. This acidic intrusion, as a whole, is represented by Post -Collisional, I type calcalkaline granitoids. Key Words: Yüksekova ophiolite, Esence granitoids, Mafic Microgranular Enclave (MME), Aplitic dike, Arenatization.
